Have you ever seen your patient list for the next day only to find that there are a lot of pediatric patients? Does this make you start to shake and sweat? Well, have no fear.  This course is for you. We all know safe and successful pediatric dental treatment depends on patient cooperation. This session will go beyond Tell-Show-Do and help the practitioner know that while there is no magic fairy dust in pedo to getting a patient to cooperate there are some insights and techniques to help achieve this. First, there will be a discussion on what you can and can not change. Then, there will be a segment on the role of prenatal stress on future child behavior and how it is a risk factor for more caries, how to predict child behavior, and how to manage the patient with ADHD. Simple and effective communication skills and techniques based on new and emerging research in pediatric psychology and when to defer treatment with SDF, ITR and ATR, and treatment plan modification will be presented. At the end of the session, the practitioner will be more confident to face successfully any child behavior in the office.
